‘Less is more’ is a quote that is attributed to architect Mies van der Rohe but what he meant was more subtle, something along the lines of ‘remove until you come to the essence’. ‘I throw often things out I liked very much,’ he said. ‘I follow the clear idea.’ The question for this tile design then is: can any more be removed? Solid cream tiles cover a larger than normal area and we think this balance is more or less right but our designs are only the starting point for each project. We adapt to your situation, adding more or less until the design is just right.
