Time to wind down

We originally created this design for a client who was planning to take life a little easier. She was building a house “high up on a mountain in the jungle” and wanted handmade tiles. It was an isolated location but the house itself was to be modern and organic and this design had to fit that aesthetic. In the end we used Sunrise tiles and plenty the M998 glaze, a matte pinkish glaze which mimics the look of raw terracotta (#colourway 3 uses a screen-printed pink instead). The design was a hit but the client eventually got cold feet about transporting the tiles to a mountain location in the jungle. Understandable but a shame – it would have been a stunning photo shoot!
