Do you remember drawing circles in the sand as a child? With the tines of a plastic rake you could write your name, draw undulating sets of parallel lines or make elegant, looping patterns that curled and crested and doubled back on themselves, at least until the sea washed them away. Who’s to say it wasn’t art in an early and very pure form? We’ve tried to recapture those swooping, circling lines and the sense of innocent play in this screen-printed ceramic tile design.
