In warmer regions of the world parakeets are abundant but they also survive in places like Amsterdam (our capital city!). One species, the ‘rose-ringed parakeet’, has been a feature of the city for decades. Released into the urban wild, perhaps by accident, perhaps deliberately, they gather in trees in startling combinations of beaks, bodies and colour. This design echoes these congregations but unlike the parakeets, it’s available in any colour combination!
